Week 5

The color correction on the portion of my footage is done and ready to be presented. I might go back and do some final tweaks when i finish color corrected the rest of the piece but for now I am happy with the results, one shot keeps looking a little greener than I thought but it might be the screen on my computer at home. I am hoping to finish our marketing and distribution plans done this week so i can focus on my up coming 495 shooting days. I have found some pretty good festivals. Having some trouble with the website but since I have never made one before that is to be expected. Trying to have everything done soon so that next week we can focus on just putting our presentation together for the 14th.

Week Four

I have started working on the correction project. Because Tyler has been focusing on the rough and fine cuts of his piece I took the lead on this project. Since there wasn't anything in Tyler's piece that could really be used for this project we use a portion of a film I made in 302 last semester. Along with started this project I have also started to put together the webpage for Tyler' piece and i am hoping to have it finished by next week. The rough cut of Tyler's piece is coming together and we are hoping that with a few tweaks Tyler will be able to get it where it needs to be. We found a very cool audio sync up between some footage of Ronald Regan and President Obama. Hopefully we will be able to wrap up the most of the marketing plan by next week.

Third week,

I have made some good progress on narrowing down what festivals I think Tyler's piece do well at, but I still have a few more to go through before showing Tyler the final list so I can get his input before cutting it down to the final choices. i have also been able to finish our without a box page minus the production photos but Tyler should be sending those to me this week. We are also planning to get our color correction started and finished this week. We will be using a scene from my 302 film that I wanted to do some color correction on but didn't have enough time last semester to finish properly. It is a supernatural narrative that I am hoping to give a more spine tingling feel with a more dramatic color scheme.

Week Two

During this second week of working on our project I am still trying to sift through the festivals on without a box. I have found a few interesting ones but I find myself putting some one the list only because they have a student film section rather just a experimental film section, luckily for Tyler he is still a student and can take advantage of student entry slots. Maybe I’m not looking in the right section but I have found a few festivals that actually do want experimental films. I have been able to add some information to our without a box page but still haven’t gotten everything I need but I plan to have it done by next week at the latest so hopefully I’ll be able to post that it is finished next time. Also I’m hoping to begin to have down the list of film festivals I have made soon so that I can start building the spreadsheet.

Week One

During this first week I started looking through the festivals list on without a box. I never knew there were this many festivals available nor that they would be so varying in genre, demographic, and size. Weeding through them has been no easy task especially for someone looking to submit an experimental film, I am finding that most film festivals are looking for more doc and narrative films, but I have already found a few that might work for Tyler’s film. I haven’t quite finished the film’s page on without a box yet but I have registered on the site and started a new gmail account for Tyler’s film. I am hoping to get the necessary information from Tyler soon and have the without a box page finished by next week.
